Install XXLPH Ice Cream Sandwich Firmware on Samsung Galaxy S2

The XXLPB had been an extremely good firmware for Samsung Galaxy S2 owners and it was perhaps the most stable one after XXKP8, XXKPA, XXLP2 and a few more. Sammobile has released XXLPH recently which obviously comes with improvements in the UI and a few more bug fixes which you might have been facing in the previous Ice Cream Sandwich Firmwares. As usual, I am here again with the tutorial to install Ice Cream Sandwich onSamsung Galaxy S2 with the XXLPH firmware. Please note that this is not the official firmware released by Samsung but it is a modded one released by Sammobile.com Also note, this firmware can be applied only to Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 and not on any other versions like GT-I9100G Please do not attempt to apply this firmware on any other version of Samsung Galaxy S2, else it will land you in deep water!

Improvements in XXLPH Firmware

• Interface: Kind of 3D effect when scrolling.
• Battery: Lot better than early ones.
• Faster: Feels the same as LPB
• Touch: Not so good as LPB.
• Overall: Better score in our eyes than LPB .
• Facelock: Same as LPB working fine.
• Task: Same as version LPB.

Prerequisites

Backup all your applications using ASTRO File Manager. If you have rooted your Samsung Galaxy S2, you can use Titanium Backup for the same.

• Back up all contacts to SD Card.
• Make sure you have KIES installed.
• Disable Anti virus and other security apps
• Enable USB Debugging by Settings>Applications>Development and ensure that USB Debugging is checked.

After you back up everything, you can proceed with the steps to install this firmware. The steps to install XXLPH ICS firmware : 

Once you make sure you have backed up all apps and data on your phone, you can proceed with the steps to install ICS on Samsung Galaxy S2.

1. Download XXLPH Firmware
2. Extract the files to a separate folder in your PC.
3. Download Odin if you don’t have it.
4. Turn off your phone.
5. Boot your phone into Download Mode. To do this, press the Volume Down button and Center button. While you press both, simultaneously pres the power button and your phone will enter into download mode.
6. Open Odin.
7. Connect your phone to the PC via USB. When you do this the ID:Com section on Odin must turn yellow. If it doesn’t don’t proceed to the next step.
8. In Odin, click on the buttons given below and the files written adjacent to them:

   PDA: I9100_CODE_I9100XXLPH_CL118559_REV02_user_low_ship.tar
   PHONE: MODEM_I9100XXLPH_REV_02_CL1104396.tar
   CSC: GT-I9100-MULTI-CSC-OXALPH.tar
   Bootloader: I9100_APBOOT_I9100XXLPH_CL118559_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
   

9. Also make sure you have checked Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time in Odin.
10. Finally, click on Start. Your phone will reboot on success. If it doesn’t, re-insert the battery and boot your phone into download mode. You need to repeat the procedure again if you fail to do it in the first try.
